Communications
All radio communications for the
Fairacres-Picacho Volunteer Fire Department are handled by the Mesilla Valley Regional
Dispatch Authority. The agency is referred to as "Central". Central is the
designated Public Safety Answering Point for Dona Ana County.
The center dispatches for all municipal and
county emergency service agencies within Dona Ana County. All requests for
fire and rescue services are dispatched on County Fire Channel-1. Single company
responses remain on Channel-1 for the duration of their
assignment.
Multi-company responses respond on Channel-1 and then switch to
their appropriate tactical
channel to coordinate operations.
